After the bloodshed of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, someone still has to clean up. Taylor Mac's dark comedy follows Gary, a former clown, Janice, an experienced cleaner, and Carol, a midwife, as they confront the bodies left behind by Rome's powerful. Amid the gruesome work, Gary imagines a performance that might interrupt the cycle of violence. The play turns the aftermath of tragedy into a confrontation with class, survival, and the possibilities of theatre.
